No one should sleep hungry during lockdown, says CMD, CCLCCL has provided about 100 quintals of food grains to local administrations

Hon’ble Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi and Hon’ble Chief Minister, Jharkand Shri Hemant Soren are monitoring the situation very minutely to fight against the coronavirus pandemic, taking with them all the stakeholders and the people at large with objective to break the chain of corona transmission. 

Central Coalfields Ltd(CCL), a subsidiary of Coal India, under the dynamic leadership of its Chairman-cum-Managing Director, Shri Gopal Singh is not only motivating the employees and stakeholders to play significant role in the country’s fight against the coronavirus pandemic but ensuring that no one should sleep hungry in command areas of the company during lockdown. CCL has set up dedicated helpline numbers (0651-2365999, 0651-2361013, 0651-2360606) so that any needy person staying in command areas of the company can give call during the lockdown and company will extend all possible support to them including arranging food grains packet and medical advice.

The ongoing 21-day lockdown has extended till 3rd May, 2020. During the first phase of 21-day lockdown(ended on 14th April), CCL has performed exemplary work and its employees worked as“frontline warriors” and distributed food packets in command areas of the company, which is spread out in eight districts of Jharkhand- Ranchi, Ramgarh, Hazaribagh, Latehar, Palamu, Chatra, Giridih and Bokaro-  by adhering norms of maintaining social distancing and other advisories issued by government from time to time. 

CCL has been working in coordination with the localadministration in eights districts of the Jharkhand state. The company has provided about 100 quintals of food grains like rice, pulses, salt, wheat flour, mustard oil, soya bari, flattened rice, spices, potatoes, onions etc to the local administration for distribution among the needy during lockdown till April 14, 2020. It has also supplied other relief materials like masks, sanitizers etc to the administration to check spread of coronavirus. CCL has also distributed food grains packet withing the state to more than 12,000 families. CCL is continuing distribution of food grains and other relief works during the ongoing lockdown which is extended till May 3. 

CMD CCL Shri Gopal Singh has been touch with Area General Mangers through video conference and other means of communication. He has issued necessary instruction that the employees must take all preventive measures like wearing hand gloves, mask etc while performing duties at work place and while coming to home. Shri Singh said that it is important to prevent oneself from this deadly virus so that he or she does not transmit to other healthy individual and then only family, society, Jharkhand and our country could overcome from this unprecedented crisis. 
CCL is ensuring in its command areas that no one sleeps hungry during the exercise  to check the spread of coronavirus during lockdown. “We are distributing food packets comprising essential items like rice, pulses, spices etc in all areas with support of district administration to ensure no one sleeps empty stomach during lockdown,” Singh said. He further added that the coal family has become a soldier in this corona war and working like everyother citizen of this country to fight against the coronavirus.
