On 25/05/2016 one Workshop on the topic "Augmentation of U/G Production (For100% Growth)" was organized by U/G Department of CCL. Chief guest CMD CCL was the key note speaker in the Workshop. which was attended by about 100 participants. The participants were executives of different areas working in U/G mines, GM (UG) along with his team from CMPDIL , HOD's of HQ and Area GM's. All functional Directors and CVO graced the occasion as guest of honor.

The workshop was divided in two sessions. In the first session, after inaugural function, GM (UG), Sri M.K.Mishra, during his welcome speech explained the purpose of Workshop and outlined the programme in brief.

D.T.O. CCL explained the need of increasing production from U/G and emphasized that U/G mining is the future of coal industry.

DT (P&P) CCL outlined in depth analysis of down trend in the U/G production and ways and means to counter it. He further stressed for adoption of large scale mechanization in U/G mines and make U/G environment comfortable to encourage people to opt for UG.

CVO CCL emphasized the need of introduction of Man Riding system for going down and coming back so that efficiency of work force increases. He further stressed that the outcome of this workshop should be implemented & should not be limited to this workshop.

Key note speaker and Chief Guest CMD CCL Sri Gopal Singh in his talk stressed that today the global scenario is changing fast and we have to keep pace with LPG i.e. Liberalization, Privatization & Globalization. He encouraged the participants to express themselves freely and come out with a concrete action plan so that the aim of the workshop is achieved. He further stressed that apart from introduction of mass technology and opening of new mines, our aim should be to achieve 100% growth from existing mines.

Four papers were presented in the first session. The first paper was presented by GM (UG),CMPDIL Regarding present and future of UG mining in CCL.

" Exploring possibility of introduction of long wall mining in CCL was presented by E&M department, CCL."

PO Saunda presented a paper on "Introduction of mass Production technology"

Mr N.K.Dubey, Sr Manager of UG department Underground department outlined "Immediate measures to be taken to enhance production.

The second session was scheduled for brain storming, after which each group came out with a brief note clearly mentioning that what needs to be done in each mine for achieving the goal of the company in respect of "100% growth in UG production within two years."
