In the welcome address Smt.Vismita Tej, IRS, CVO, CCL stressed that this seminar would be beneficial for officials in delivering their work efficiently and transparently. Sri RK Saha, CMD, CCL also addressed the audience and stressed to follow the norms of governance and corporate ethics. Dr.D.Mukherjee, ED, RDCIS/SAIL and Sri AK Singh, CMD, CMPDIL also spoke on this occasion. Sri Pratyush Sinha, former Central Vigilance Commissioner delivered the key note address. He deliberated at length on the role of good governance and corporate ethics in the performance of any company. He highlighted that some high profit making companies have high ethical standards also. Hence ethics and profit are not mutually exclusive but are complementary to each other in case of good corporate governance. He also deliberated at length about certain characteristics of governance and corporate ethics like participation, rule of the law, transparency and accountability which should be followed by the executives of any company while delivering their duties.
