CCL celebrate Sarhul Eve with Fervor

The festive mood was in the air as employees of Central Coalfields Limited dancing to the beats of Nagara, Mandar and flute to celebrate Sarhul in Vichar Manch, Darbhanga House, Ranchi on Tuesday. As per traditions of the company, CCL has been celebrating festivals of different communities for “religious harmony.” Shri Gopal Singh, CMD, CCL was the Chief Guest of the function. Director (Personnel) Sri R S Mahapatro and Dr Meenakshi Munda, President, Asia Pacific Indigenous Youth Network, were the Guest of Honor.
Addressing the gathering, Sri Gopal Singh congratulated everyone on the occasion of Sarhul. He said that it is the time to pay our respect to our Ancestors, Nature and God. Sri Singh said that the children of Jharkhand are immensely talented and all they need is someone who can hekp them to hone their skill and provide them with ample opportunity. CCL is trying its best in this direction, he added.
Sri Singh reiterated CCL’s commitment for holistic development of “Tribals, Downtrodden and Workers”. He informed the gathering that CCL is going to open “Adivasi Kalyan Kendra” in Kamde, Ranchi in this direction. The centre will provide free schooling along with boarding and lodging to the tribal children. Moreover, they will be trained for various competitive exams like engineering, medical, civil services etc as per their aptitude and attitude.
Speaking on the occasion, Shri R S Mahapatro wished everyone and said that it is time to remember our responsibility towards nature. He emphasized on maintaining the balance between growth and ecological conservation.
Throwing light on the importance of Sarhul, Dr Menaakshi said that nature is the center of all the activities of any tribal society. However there is need to come together to save the Mother Nature/
Women employees of the company were dressed in colorful traditional attire and performed cultural programmes. Local artists also staged colorful programme.
